India Couture Week '17- Shyamal & Bhumika

I entered the hall 30 minutes late, breathing heavily, running towards the media pit to capture the perfect shots of the show. As it was my first Shyamal & Bhumika show, my excitement was beyond words. I have been an ardent follower of the brand since quite some years now but getting to watch their creations live is one hell of an experience.

With my camera in hand, I was ready for The Princess's Soiree Couture Collection. As soon as the lights came on, 9-10 models were seen happily chatting to each other. They had donned glamorous clothes in the shades of gold.

The collection tells a story of the modern day bride who is celebrating life through her clothes. It consists of European details and colors like champagne gold, ruby wine and coral blue. There's fine sequins work and intricate embroidery in this collection. Some of the outfits took my breath away like the one with the heavy work on the shoulders or the flowy gown which give a fairytale feel. These styles are fresh and appealing to the young Indian women out there who won't mind a foreign touch to their outfits.

I really liked how the designers combined ruffles, frills and flares with lehengas. These details made the outfits look heavy and grand while being super easy to carry. If you plan on wearing these lehengas, all the attention will go to these details and you won't be able to find a single woman who'll be able to match your outfit.

My first experience of Shyamal & Bhumika was superb. Every detail, every outfit and every style spoke to me. All I wanted to do, after watching this show was to get one of the designers' creations for myself.
We would definitely love to see more of the duo in the upcoming fashion weeks!
