Monsoon Diaries by Rahul Mishra at the India Couture Week 2016

I'm a sucker for pretty show setups. Put me in a room with an out of the box setup and I'm all set for the next few hours. Rahul Mishra's Monsoon Diaries setup by Abhishek Kaushik was built by recycled paper which created illusions and gave a shadow effect.

Traditional techniques, flared silhouettes and handcrafted embroidery comprised Mishra's couture collection. The audience was stunned to see the zipper jacket and sari combo, blazer jackets with ghagras and capes instead of blouses.
It was like the entire show had a story to tell. One that the whole crowd was eager to listen.

Hiraeth by Rimple & Harpreet Narula at the India Couture Week 2016

The third day of ICW kicked off with the first show being Reynu Tandon's followed by Rimple & Harpreet Narula's show. The show began with the first outfit being an extremely beautiful white lehenga. The chunni was made of net with a thin border of sequins, subtle yet graceful. As far as the blouse is concerned, it was to die for! Heavy thread and sequins work.

After this super pretty lehenga, came a line of more lehengas in the shades of white. Some had net work while the others had heavy sequins work. This line was so pretty that the entire media section had their phones fixed to the ramp to capture the best of these lehengas.

The Last Dance of the Courtesans- Tarun Tahiliani for India Couture Week 2016.

It was 10:05 PM and the call for the show to begin had still not been made. We media people utilized this time to marvel at the courtesan setup for Tarun Tahiliani's show. With a chandelier at the beginning of the ramp and strands of chameli flowers on the sides, the entire Durbur Hall smelled as well as looked stupendous.

After some waiting, the lights went off and I got completely bound to the ramp for the next 30-40 minutes.
The beiges had delicate embroidery while the shades of red had intricate swarovski work. After an eye feasting collection of reds and beiges, Tahiliani also put in a touch of black (not one of my favorites to be honest)

Diva Rose by Simran Aggarwal- Store Launch.

With a beautiful chandelier right in the middle of the room, the store of Simran Aggarwal is a burst of colors where you'll get to witness fine designs. The brains behind Diva Rose is a NIFT graduate who believes that every woman is a diva. (Pretty evident in her collection)

On the right side of the store, you'll find the pret and couture collection. The pret collection lies between INR 10,000- 25,0000 whereas the couture collection ranges from INR 25,000 to INR 1,50,000.
I personally loved the pret collection. The colors used for this collection were so so so pretty and the textures reminded me of Serena Van Der Woodsen's dresses from Gossip Girl! Diva Rose's pret collection is all about peplums, cut out dresses, off shoulders and every such detail which fascinates the age group of 18-25.

This orange peplum cut out dress was the winner of the evening for me. As soon as I laid my eyes on this dress, my heart was stitched to it.

The couture collection was not like any usual couture collection. Gowns had a modern touch, backs were made of sheer net, capes had exquisite thread work. In a nutshell, there were designs many had never seen before. And the best part was, this was all quality work. The different types of materials used felt so soft and comfortable to the skin.

Those who are on the lookout for something fresh and crowd pleasing, pick Diva Rose. Trendy Mannequin gives it a big thumbs up!
